Chevron Corporation is the world’s fifth largest non-government energy company. Headquartered in San Ramon, California, USA, and active in more than 180 countries, it is engaged in every aspect of the oil and gas industry, including exploration and production; refining, marketing and transport; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation. Chevron is one of the world’s six “supermajor” oil companies.

I completed two summer internships with Chevron, one out of the San Ramon headquarters and a second working with the Latin American offices out of Coral Gables (just outside of Miami, FL). During my time at Chevron I worked with outstanding people, in a culture where I felt valued and comfortable around even high level managers.
A company of Chevron’s size affords many opportunities to travel and a wide range of job positions. The variety of work that’s available at Chevron has lead to very low turn over rates, and many people who have spent their entire careers within the company.
Chevron also offers exceptional encouragement of work life balance amongst its employees, including “9/80″ work schedules in which employees commonly work nine hour days, to get every other Friday off from work.
